On the website of the Writing Center you can find useful information on all offers concerning academic writing at Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz. The different services are provided by various institutions and are tailored to different target groups.

The Writing Center is going digital as community on Microsoft Teams.

The UB offers online courses through out the semester. The topics range from general academic writing, citation rules and subject specific research aids. The courses are in German. For further information please refer to our German website.


The AStA-Ausländer*innenreferat offers the Text-Café currently as digital version via email.



PHILIS of faculty 05 offers its writing counseling currently via Microsoft Teams.



SoWi?So! of faculty 02 currently offers the following:

Due to the current situation, consultation hours are held exclusivelyin a digital format. You can register via e-mail.



The faculty 06 offers writing counseling especially on the subject of source research and citation for students of FB 06 via Skype or phone.


The Schreibwerkstatt of faculty 08 offers writing counseling via email. In addition, a virtual writing space was created in MS teams. You can inquire further information via email.
The General Postgraduate Program (GPP) will offer following english workshops on academic writing in the wintersemester 2020/21:


The Mainz Research School of Translational Biomedicine (TransMed) of faculty 04 will offer digital courses on scientific writing in the wintersemeser 2020/21.

The program will be published shortly.

In winter semester 2020/21, the Writing Center is offering the Teacher Training for the Promotion of Academic Writing.
The program takes place from 22th October to 10th December 2020 via MS Teams.

Hochschulevaluierungsverbund Süd-West e.V.
